Now this weekend, this last weekend was a blast. Left on thuresday early afternoon and didn`t come back till late on sunday. I had my huge tent out there with my queen size air mattress on its frame with my sheets so it was as good as my bed at home. I had wonderful company the whole weekend and I got to see for the first time the coronation of my kingdoms king and queen. It was a show to remember, the old king and queen had their court giving out the last awards of their rein thanking all those who helped them makeing awards brining those to their attention who deserved them and such.
Then the new king and queen came onto the scene, on horse back both in such gorgous garb, thier people around them hounds before them a herald to speak their praises for all to hear. We went through the cermoney to crown them then they took the oaths of all the subjects starting with those of highest rank down. They took on thier guards giving them the badges of office, then those who wanted to brought to them gifts.
This all lasted some 4 hours but oh I loved it. The day before this was most of the fighting, it was lovley to sit in the shade with company and talk and watch, then wander merchant row, then go back to camp and have food. Oh but not all fun I did do my time at gate for some 6 hours. Then there was the bards at night, I had one camped right next to me so we always got to hear him singing. He also did fire breathing so we all got to watch that everynight.
Of course with all those people there are going to be some trouble, like the couple...who were married to other people who were caught together, and the squire who some of the older fighters got so drunk he was pukeing all over the place and put a good size dent in some guys car.
All in all though, I was sad to see the weekend come to a close, I love it there, when else does it not bother you when people are a bit noisy? I mean you are all out there for the same reason..you all want to be there, you all have the same purpose...heh to be able to always pick such neighbors.
